Product User Guide

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing your very own WyTrac GPS tracking device and MapTrac software. We’re sure that both of these will be useful to you, no matter whether it’s for personal or business use.

Read First!

Before using your WyTrac or MapTrac product, please take note that you have all required materials from your WyTrac package:

  • WyTrac GPS tracking device
  • MapTrac software installation CD

Once these items have been verified, you’re ready to begin using your product!

Software Installation

To install your MapTrac software, please follow these steps.

  1. Insert your MapTrac CD into your CD drive.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your C drive. Look for a file called “Setup”. Run this program.
  3. Follow the on-screen dialogs for the program installation.
  4. Once installed, double-click on the “MapTrac” desktop icon to run the program.
Software Usage

When used in conjunction with your USB adaptor, your MapTrac program will display up to date information regarding your tracking.

How to use your MapTrac software

Your MapTrac software comes loaded with features. Most of these can be accessed via the menu options.

File Menu
Exit – Exits the MapTrac software.

Config Menu
Color – This submenu contains three choices: gray, red, blue. These color choices affect the color of the MapTrac software interface.
Reset – Choosing reset will clear the datapoints that are displayed by the MapTrac software. (It will NOT delete them from the data file, so don’t worry about accidentally deleting your datapoints.)
Edit Points – Opens up the datafile in a text editor, allowing for a user to edit the latitude and longitude points.

Figure Menu
This menu only becomes operational after the datafile has been read. The options in this menu will be used when loading the map. Once selected and the map is loaded, that type of figure will be used when displaying the datapoints. For example, choosing to display a car will put a car icon above each pair of latitude and longitude points as they are displayed.

Send Menu
Send Email – Send information to someone via email. Click on this option to open a dialog box, asking for an email address. Inputting a valid email address and clicking send will load a WyTrac webpage that will send the datapoints and a link to the map to that email address.

Help Menu
About – Displays information about the MapTrac program.
